Whole wheat pizza with chives, caramelized onions, walnuts, and Gruyère

  1. Slice 2 Vidalia onions and brown in olive oil over medium heat (10 minutes). Add a bit of sugar and reduce heat to medium (20 minutes). Add 1/4 cup of Balsamic vinegar and cook until dry (20 minutes).
  2. Brush your favourite pizza dough recipe with a glug of garlic infused olive oil. Stretch the dough onto an inverted baking sheet or a pizza stone and let rest until onions are nearly dry.
  3. Add a layer of grated Gruyère and then the caramelized onions. Top with the remaining Gruyère. Cook at 200C for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Top with toasted walnuts and finely chopped chives.
